I strongly believe you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with, especially when exploring options like EMDR therapy or family systems therapy. I view our relationship as collaborative; you are the expert on your own life. However, it can be challenging to see your experiences objectively, and that’s where our work in mental health therapy comes in! My approach to individual psychotherapy is influenced by a variety of theoretical frameworks, including psychodynamic, attachment, family of origin, existential, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and experiential methods. Additionally, I offer innovative options such as Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, tailored to your specific needs identified in our initial sessions.
I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who present with a variety of different struggles. On my website, you can find more information on specific areas of specialty, including EMDR therapy, family systems therapy, individual psychotherapy, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as part of my mental health therapy offerings.
I received my Undergraduate degree in Exercise Sports Science with a minor in Social Work from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. My passion for understanding the physical body and the healing process from trauma led me to explore various aspects of mental health therapy. Throughout my college years, I realized that my focus shifted from physical ailments to understanding the emotional impacts on my clients. Our bodies often hold onto emotional stress that we have yet to process. This realization motivated me to delve deeper into individual psychotherapy and learn how to guide people through their emotional journeys while honoring their physical selves. I pursued my Masters of Social Work from the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston, where I discovered the importance of approaches like EMDR therapy and family systems therapy in fostering healing. I have truly found my home in Social Work and am particularly interested in integrating techniques such as Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy into my practice.
