The adolescent years are hard enough, but throw Covid-19 into the mix and our teens are experiencing the most challenging years of their lives. Our kids have been home and staring at screens for over a year now. This has absolutely impacted their mental health, relationships with themselves, and their relationships with others.
In my work with teens, I incorporate experiential activities, games, and art into our work. For many of us, it can be challenging at times to explain our experience to others. We don't have the words to explain what we're thinking or feeling. I've found that by focusing on games or activities, it can open the door to some of those conversations.
If you're not sure if therapy would help your teen, give me a call! I'd love to talk more and answer any questions you might have.
